The Netherlands – Dutch industrial distributor Duursma has announced that it will become part of DEXIS, the industrial division of the French family-owned group Descours & Cabaud, subject to approval by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Founded in 1782, Descours & Cabaud has grown into one of Europe’s leading industrial distribution and services groups, with activities spanning industrial supplies, construction, and water engineering. Across Europe, the group operates under the brands DEXISPROLIANS, and HYDRALIANS.

According to Duursma, the acquisition represents a new phase in the company’s development, focused on continuity, quality, and sustainable growth, while maintaining the high level of service and technical expertise customers have come to expect.

Business Continues as Usual

The company emphasized that the transaction will have no immediate impact on customers or business partners. Duursma will continue to operate under its existing name, with its current management team, employees, customer contacts, contractual agreements, banking details, and company information remaining unchanged.

At the same time, becoming part of DEXIS will provide access to broader technical expertise, an expanded product portfolio, and the international capabilities of the Descours & Cabaud Group, enabling Duursma to further strengthen its support for customers in the years ahead.

Preserving the Duursma Identity

Duursma noted that one of the key reasons for selecting Descours & Cabaud as its new owner was the group’s long-term entrepreneurial philosophy. The company allows its businesses across different countries to operate with a high degree of autonomy, preserving their local culture, identity, and customer relationships.

As a result, Duursma will continue to operate as an independent local organization while benefiting from the backing of a major European industrial distribution group.

Looking Ahead

The company described the move as an important milestone that provides a strong foundation for future growth. By joining a financially solid organization with more than two centuries of industrial experience, Duursma expects to create long-term stability for its employees, suppliers, and customers.

The company also acknowledged that the acquisition reflects the strong market position it has built over the years, made possible through the continued trust and support of its customers, suppliers, and business partners.

With the support of DEXIS and the wider Descours & Cabaud Group, Duursma aims to further strengthen existing partnerships while continuing to develop new opportunities in the industrial market.
